08 Sequoias? only 3k rebates???

Went and test drove a new 08 Sequoia limited for the wife and the dealer claims 'yota is offering 3k rebates on the left over 08s.

WTF? nissan has 6k rebates on current model year 09s...no wonder the dealers have 08s left.

anyone know of killer deals on 08s out there?

Dealer over here that I've been in talks with has internet pricing on the limiteds marked down about 10k. Though it took 2 hours for them to finally recognize it. When they said all I was approved for was a loan with a 12% rate and I started to walk out of the deal they then told me if I wanted the 1.9% rate that Toyota was offering I would have to give up a 4k rebate.

Sequoias here are $8k off with 1.9%.

I know this may seem strange to some, but incentives are based on current inventory levels in the different regions. I did a quick check, and in our five state region of TX, LA, MS, AK, and OK, there are 573 Sequoias left. Sounds like a lot, but when you spread them over the number of dealers in this region, it breaks down to only a few per dealer.

well it just seems odd...

i know the gas/economy issues have hurt big SUV sales - thus the reason for the 08s even still being on lots.

but, weve looked at one dealer with 3 2008 eddie bauer expeditions left that are 5k in rebates and so far they moved 3k more making an 8k discount.
chrysler aspen 08 with hemi, limited with nav, awd, all options, msprp 43k reduced to 33k.

test drove an 09 fully pimped armada with a 6k rebate on it.

and now go to toyota and the 08 sequoia has a 3k rebate and they will knock off another 2 since its last year's truck. um...gonna have to try harder than that.
