Below invoice or below MSRP? Below invoice, yes that seems like a good deal!
- Did you see the invoice for the truck?
- What was the total invoice?
- What was the holdback?
- Is 3k of that from the Toyota rebates? ($500 under invoice plus rebates)
All-in-all that seems like a good deal. We bought our Tundra for 27,800 with (free) floor mats; we paid for bed-liner and bed-rail. Our deal was $500 above invoice, w/ 3k of rebates. MSRP was 31,900 and after taxes and fees we paid 29,000. We also put 2k down so dealer was more then happy to accomodate. We walked away happy... the question is would you be happy with your deal?

It's a great truck... you can't go wrong!
You are correct, 500 below invoice with 3,000 from the factory, so 3500 below invoice, not msrp. The sticker is 32,xxx, so out the door price is 29,177 (26131 plus tax and license) . I am just interested if that is a great deal, or if there is better. I said that if they would add the sonars, I would have done the deal tonight, they did not so I walked out. I will see if they call tomorrow!

Tell them you'll split the holdback. That's what I did. Only deal with a sales manager, a new car salesman is a middleman, period. Tell the manager all in no bs invoice, you want the truck for $500ish below the invoice (this is splitting the holdback) and then you want the rebates. This is the best deal anyone can get and generally employees can't even do this. Then when he freaks tell him that's your offer hand him a card with your name and number and WALKOUT! When they try to stop you offer that you're heading to the next dealer to see if they will do that deal for you and the first one to say yes gets the money, do not play their games!
That is about what I paid for my 08 SR5 4x4 DC. Sticker was 33,xxx. Invoice was about 31k plus 5k rebate ended up about 26k. It had the styled wheels 6 disc changer and the sliding back window as the only options. And the 5.7 of course.

IMO, $500 below invoice before the rebate is pretty good. It's more than 1/2 their holdback. I don't think you'll do better until the end of the year! Right now, if I get $500 below invoice on an 09 I'm going to be in a new truck! I'd go for it
Incidentally, getting sonar is not really an option unless they have the identical truck w/sonar. If not, they'd have to trade with another dealer and they lose the incentive to move that particular truck off their lot.
