I didnt have any problems with my salesperson, I knew what I wanted to pay (invoice minus incentives), had my financing pre-done through my bank. I walked in to the dealership after finding the truck I wanted minus the color (however, black and Radiant Red topped my list), saw the dealer inventory, walked in, said this is my price, I can walk out of here with a truck or no truck. The only thing that threw the monkey wrench into the mix for me was the truck had the TRD package (yeah yeah yeah, I lurked 8 months to know it wasnt worth it). Needless to say, the salesperson saw a quick sale, and met my price (TRD package @ SR5 price minus incentives). The manager didn't see it our way, tried to stonewall the deal. I put the cashier's check back in my pocket, told the manager to have a nice day and call me if they wanted to deal. End result was, manager now saw a quick deal, salesman saw quick deal, and I walked out of there with new truck at what I thought was a fair/good price. All parties were happy.
Money talks, if the dealer doesn't see it that way, walk away and find someone who does. This is a business, they aren't enthusiasts, they don't care if they sell a prius, a corolla or the tundra. Find someone who speaks money and deal with them. No sense in wasting your time or theirs.
Don't get me started on the shyster that tried to sell me a Titan......
Dealers could care less how you pay its the same to them cash or finance, they get paid just the same. So good credit scores are as good as cash. Yeah you go in there with crap credit and look to them to finance you your in a less than advantageous position to negotiate.

The carsdirect site is awesome. I just filled it out and sent it and have a phone call from a neighboring toyota dealer. thanks for the help.
We have purchased 2 cars using carsdirect.com, the first one back when they were just starting out. I have always had good luck with them. You don't have to deal with ANY dealer B.S. and you walk in, sign and drive. I have only had a few minor hiccups when I wanted something hard to find, but persistence pays off and the guys are always willing to work hard for you.
Heck, talk to sparks in S.C. and see what kind of deal they can get for you. You already know what truck you want and what you want to pay for it, so call them. They are a long time supporter of our site and for good reason--We Buy From Them! (It's not hard really since the customer service is great and the prices are awesome)
Good luck with figuring out and get the d@mn TUNDRA!
I did the internet/fleet sales thing to. The easiest time I've ever had buying a vehicle. I emailed the dealership one night because they had the exact one I wanted with all the options. I had been pricing them for months but was waiting for the 0% interest plan to come back. I gave him the price I wanted out the door. He responded with "Done". Picked up the truck the next morning after signing the papers. The lady at signing tried to sell me the extended warranty for $2600 and I told her no way. After we got done signing everything she asks me "How come you don't want an extended warranty on this expensive truck"? I tell her I can get it a lot cheaper. Right away she lowers it to $1200 and I take the bait. You have to be able to play there game sometimes.

Yeah I knew I could get it a couple hundred cheaper from what I heard on here, but it was a 7year 100,000 mile warranty at 0% interest. I couldn't pass that up.

Did the internet buy of a Pontiac back in 01. Found it online, figured a fair price, called dealer with vin and said I'd buy the vehicle. They had sold that one but could get a swap in a couple of days. Bought that. When went into dealer, the whole sales staff came out to see who bought online. Now it's commonplace.
On the Tundra, the dealer mentioned that the one I was looking at was part of a factory program to see how they would sell. So I found all dealers with same options and negotiated a price listing where I would go next if I didn't get best price
No I am not a doctor but I did drive past a holiday inn

Dealing with a car salesman is sorta like dealing with a lawyer. It's a big game ya might as well enjoy it. Don't go deal with a car salesman after a long hard day of work, they sense any weakness. Don't ever let them believe you really like the vehicle there trying to sell you all that much. In fact now that you've decided on the ford you have a perfect strategy, explain how you really want a tundra, but they just wouldn't get right on the price, then lowball the he!! out of them and don't flinch one time. GOOD for a few 1.000$ off your ford. Now don't you wish you did this the other way and you wuz getting that tundra you want.

So the dealer customer service rep called me Thursday and asked me about my experience and I told her it was entertaining, I had a great time and I was still laughing about my experience. When I told her everything I said here she acted horrified, which made me laugh more. She asked if I could come back in to meet with another manager and I said no, I'll go somewhere else. I said "I'm going to buy a crewmax, just not from you." I was still laughing when I was talking to her.
Yesterday the salesman called me and asked me to come back in. They could work out a better deal since it was ""the end of the month."" I told him the same thing, still laughing and thanked him for the entertaining evenings this week.
Maybe now they have figured it out, but I doubt it.

Whem I was looking for a truck I went to one toyota dealer with a great advertised price on a tundra. Everythang was going well till they found out I was paying cash and was willing to pay their lowball price. The deal blre up, but they swore all the other prices were for the price in the add & not a BS lease deal. I said I wasn't really looking for a tacoma, but if that was the price pull the truck up cause I'll buy it. They brought the truck up, but it wasn't a 4+4 like in the add they said it was a misprint. Bought from a dealer across town at a good price. It helps when the salesman your dealing with understands that you know all there BS sceams and are willing to walk. That best friend BS sales technique doesn't work with me prefering just a little mutual respect.
