New Member, Hoping to be a Tundra Owner if I can Find a Deal!
Hi all,
I've been lurking around here for a while, and just joined recently to finally ask some questions. I'm getting serious about buying a Tundra, and spent all last saturday at a local dealership (Mossy Toyota near Mission Beach in San Diego), only to get a ridiculous "final offer" and walked out.
I went in there not really knowing what I wanted, got hooked once I drove a Tundra, and got all the way to nearly signing for one. Talked with the sales manager who brought out some paperwork showing me his rock bottom "invoice" price (which, through later research, I find out is bogus and was way, way over what I could get it for). Now that I have been researching this, I'm trying to nail down exactly what I want and the best deal I can possibly get.
The truck I almost got scammed into buying last weekend was a 2010 Tundra 2wd TRD Double Cab 5.7, Black on black. He gave me $33,500, which was apparently his Invoice price on it. The salesman was telling me that that is better than employee pricing. Come to find out this is all ********. It was something like $37,500 OTD. I'm glad I walked because this turned out to be an insane price.
Now that I've looked into it, I wanted to get some opinions on what the lowest I can get one of these for. I want a 2010 DC w/ 5.7 and TRD, pref Limited or SR5, need the tow package and backup camera, JBL sound & Bluetooth. From what I've read, I should be able to come across this for $29999 or so. I really want the 0% and will be putting $13-15k down, but I just need the cheapest OTD price with the features I want.
Any ideas on how to go about getting this? Bargaining tips? Models I should be looking for? Dealerships to talk to?
Thanks in advance...I can't wait to get into a new Tundra!
Re: New Member, Hoping to be a Tundra Owner if I can Find a Deal!
It must have had a lot more extras than just TRD Off-road. I have one here with TRD and an Owners Reward package with spray-in bedliner and mats that has an MSRP of $33,838. Invoice is little over a couple grand less.

Thanks Adam. I think I was getting screwed on the deal. I don't have the exact specs on the truck but there weren't any other extras, and definitely no bed liner!
Do you have any numbers I can bring with me this weekend to help get the best deal?

I walked out of my local dealership with an SR5 Crewmax 4x4, 09, 5.7, with 18 inch wheels and tow package, back in March for 33 and change including salestax minus my 7500 dollar trade.
