Default Bloodbath

Hi, Ok so here is the question. I have a 08 double cab and am considering getting the crew max because since i love driving this truck so much, I insist on driving pretty much everywhere with the family and that wasnt the original intent. So after just about a year , would I take a bloodbath on trading it in or because of how desirable this truck is would it make sense to go for it. Its a double cab sr5 , trd with about 17000 miles on it in nautical blue if it matters. Thanks. Let me know your opinions

The book is good on our trucks right now. You still will take a hit, but not as much as if you had traded around this time last year.

Hold on longer, unless you just have to scratch that 'new truck' itch and have cash to burn. I assume you've run some figures on pay-off vs trade-in amount. Maybe you can get TundraDreams (above) to give you some more specific figures via a PM.

Don't take less than your payoff? Is that how you negotiate? I know many people that have, but my response is, "If you owed nothing, would you want nothing?" Your payoff has nothing to do with the value of the vehicle. If someone doesn't put any money down and finances ttl and whatever else they get, it doesn't make their value any higher. Take the same approach with a house. You buy it for $150k and three years later you want to sell. The house is worth $170k, but you only owe $140k. Which would you take? You would take what its worth.

Hopefully he meant 'dont take less than your pay-off', IF that dollar amount was close to the trade-in amount. Otherwise, I have to agree w/ ya.

I read in today's biz section that used car prices were way up, due to inventory shortage.
