VIN # Decoding to find options?

Is there a way to find a vehicles VIN # to find out what the original options were?

Your dealer should be able to pull up that original equipment information with your vin#.

The VIN itself does not identify the options, but the dealer can check a database usinfg the VIN to find the factory options.

I've been to my Toyota dealer's parts counter and got this info on a printout from them twice now. I had no registration or title in my hands, just the VIN (although I DO own both vehicles). It shouldn't be a problem for a local dealer to give you the info.
