Default trd vs sr5 package for 05 Tacoma

If im planning on doing pretty serious off roading is it a must that i get the trd package? how much better is the suspension/off road capability with the trd package than the regular 4wd?

All the TRD does is add a sticker to your bed, and differet bilstein shocks (coils too? cant remember). If your serious about offroadin, save your money on the factory packages, get the 4by and then get some quality coilvers for the front and some nice bilsteins for the rear. The list of mods goes up from there, but that should get you started. Also, what kind of offroading, we dont exactily have the ideal dimensions for trail crawling.

I have the TRD package, so hard to say. Its decently firm in my case, little soft for my tastes though (upgrading to donahoes). But everybodies intrepretation of what firm is would be completly different. IF you are going to be going extreme, it wouldnt matter much, you will need to upgrade your suspension anyways, so save yourself 600 bones over the TRD package

better yet, go drive a 4wd w/ trd and one without, and make the call yourself.
