Default Help me decipher 05 models

I have decided to purchase an 05 extended cab 4x4.
Now I just need to decide on what option package to get- and there are so many.
The Toyota site is very confusing to me.
Can you tell me the difference between the different SR5 packages and different TRD packages. TRD Sport? TRD OffRoad?
I go on Toyota.com to build it and it only gives me 3 options.
Thanks in advance.

Default Options, Options??

Here is some descriptions I found that helps explain a little better. Also did a spreadsheet to compare the sport package to the SR#7. It is attached.

If I but the 05 I will get the Off-Road. The main difference I found with it and the sport package is the hood scoop, tire size and sytle, rear diff.

To expand on the above post, check out this link:

That has a chart so you know what options are available on the Access Cab.

In addition TRD off-road has prgressivly wound coil springs while TRD sport does not. I think TRD sport has a bigger front sway bar to take corners better, but im not 100% sure on that.

Hello everyone,

I am returning from an overseas job and am seriously considering the 05 Tacoma. I have been talking by email to a dealer with a silver Access Cab V6 Auto (7554) with TRD Sport Package #2 (PT). Does anyone know which tires (brand) this would have and could someone post a photo of the 17" Alloy or point me to a picture somewhere? Thanks in advance... This will be my 3rd Toyota truck (previously owned a 93 V6 and an 03 V6 Extended Cab. My fun car is a 2002 M-roadster so I am pretty excited about the 4L V6 this year...

Thanks in advance for your help...

The tires on the sport model are Bridgestone Dueler H/P... they are pretty good on dry pavement but the worse snow tires I have ever owned. If this is a concern of yours, you may want to talk to your dealer about giving you a credit for the tires and paying the difference for some better ones (like some BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A).

For a view of the 17" rims, check out my truck... it is also a Sport (but it is a Double Cab rather than Access Cab):

Good luck with your purchase

Thanks for the assistance.... you may have noted (or perhaps not) that I am new to the board. Still trying to learn my way around and sure that I will get the hang of the search option in the very new future.

Great looking truck mafan. I live in Northern Virginia so snow isn't a big issue most years but I may take your advice on the credit option. Appreciate the assist.
