I just purchased a Honda Accord for my wife. The dealer offered their extended warranty for $1600. I said I could get it cheaper online and he immediately dropped the price to $1100. I don't sign the papers until tomorrow, so when I got home I checked online and can buy it for $775. Just a note for those wanting to purchase warranties, shop around, but be sure it is with the manufacturer, not a 3rd party.

I had the same issue on my Avalon. I bought it used from a dealer and it started at $1930, then $1730 and if I signed that night it was $1230. Got on line the next day and got it for $990. It pays to look around.

Hey Doug, I have the Platinum plan on my '06 Tundra. I have the contract copy but lost track of what was covered and can't recall the whole list. Would you happen to know where I can get one online or should I just go to back to the dealer to doublecheck?

I don't know where on-line that you could view it. I know the dealers have the list. However, try Toyota.com once and maybe it will be there?

just purchased a tundra 06 4x4 today. what is an acceptable price for the plat plan package? the dealer quoted $1300.

I purchased from Troy both the extended service and the maintenence plan.

Very good prices on both. Together they were less than what my dealer wanted for just the extended warrenty.

In fact I did buy from my dealer initially and canceled that contract when I found what I could get it for from Troy.

I just bought a 7yr /100,000 mile warranty with a 0 deductible for 960. I bought it from Jake Sacks at Crown Toyota in Lawrence, KS. He faxed me all the information. It was pretty quick and hassle free. I also bought a 4yr/55,000 maiteance plan for 815. His email address is jsacks@crownautomotive.com. His phone number is 316-258-5924.

Thanks for the information about Jake Sacks at Crown Toyota. I purchases a avalon last week. The dealership is Atlanta was pricing me a warranty for 7 years/ 100,000 miles for 1899. I saw your post, yesturday and gave Jake a shot. He sold me the same warranty for 980. He is very quick and precise. I would also recommend Jake Sacks at Crown Toyota. I'm pretty sure I'm getting hosed by my dealer service department on my extended warranty. However, I can't seem to find MY copy of the extended warranty that I bought from Champion Toyota on the day that I purchased my used tundra from them. This was in july/august of '05. Is there any way that I could obtain a copy of this contract?
I hope I'm posting this in the right place- I couldn't find a place that seemed more on-topic.
