This is a discussion thread titled "'06 Tundra DC Limited pricing", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
I am new to the forum and need help from the collective wisdom regarding pricing.
I am looking to purchase a new '06 Tundra, 2wd Dbl. Cab. Limited with the following:
EJ- JBL system
CK- All weather
JC- Overhead console
KG- Running boards
LD- Limited slip
LP- Leather package
SR- Moonroof
CF- Carpet and sill protection
MSRP is $34,487. Rebates in Arizona are just $2,500. Invoice is 31,200. Since this is the last of the Limiteds in this area, I am wondering, given that they need to get these out the door, how much less than invoice is a fair offering? I saw one post saying $7,000 below sticker is reasonable considering the new Tundras will be out in a month. On the other hand, I hate to lose put on a great truck at a reasonable price.
Welcome to TS! That sounds like a pretty good buy to me, but every market is different. They are not offering any discounts on the Tundra here other than what Toyota is doing.
The biggest thing about Toyota is their quality and how they hold their value. Personally, I think the Tundra is worth every penny.
Mine stickered for $35K and the dealer was more than happy to sell it for $8K less. I don't see any problem with throwing them a number and seeing if they'll bite. Keep in mind that if your dealer won't go for it, go to a different dealer. My local dealer wanted $1200 more -- I went to a bigger dealer in OKC and they transferred the truck to their location and sold it to me for my price.

You may be able to get lower than the invoice price, but I know for a fact that inventory is very limited in the Phoenix area on 06 Tundras. Since inventory is very low, this makes it hard for you to just go to a different dealer especially if you have a specific color or feature you must have. The rules of supply and demand come into play.
I bought mine in last week. I wanted a double cab with a front bench seat so I could get the seating for 6. There were only 8 in the valley and only 2 in the gold color I wanted. I was dealing with a fleet guy who quickly gave me invoice. But, when he realized how few there were with the options I wanted, he didn't have to go any lower.
Think of it this way, with the $2500 discount and getting them down to invoice alone, you are already getting it for a lower price than just about any other comparably equiped Tundra on the road. Regarless of the official price of the 07's you will probably have to pay close to sticker or more for several months. Right now is a perfect time to get a fantatic truck for a fantastic price. If you are a value shopper, than your time to act is now.

That's an outstanding deal. I bought for ~ $4400 under invoice, or $6800 under sticker (what your local dealer was offering). I saved about $1000 more than what their ad shows. Here's the ad they're running in Columbus, OH on the '06 DC 4x4 SR5's:

what was the sticker price? im looking to get a double cab 4x4, and im in wi, pretty close to ohio
That price was for an SR5. Tansky is sold out of 06 Double Cabs, at least according to my uncle, who is a salesman there. PM me if you want me to double check or want contact info.
