So like if I build one on Consumer reports New Car buyers kit site and load it up to $48061 MSRP the bottom line price is $42056 including the $837 dealer hold back they have listed. Of course, depending on where you live, good luck doing anything with that info.

I didn't say you could buy one at invoice.... I was answering his question on how to roughly figure invoice.

If you just go to the other sites or do the 10% rule you don't know that there's a $837 hold back from Toyota on them as well.
My comment about doing anything with that info depending on where you live is in reference to the fact that that there are still some (many?)locations where dealers are selling at or above MSRP on the CrewMax. So if you are in one of those locations and not willing to travel, you can go in armed with all the knowledge you want about the price but it won't help you a bit.
The 10% rule you gave is good advice. I just happen to have paid for that service from ConsumerReports when I was shopping for a new car and still have a month left on it, so I thought I'd share an exact figure.
there is something messed up with the quote thing. I check boxes to add options and the msrp and invioce goes down. I added like 4k worth of stuff to a crewmax 4x4 and the price keeps going down the more stuff i add. i wish that was true.
the double cab one is working tho (i think) I think i have to add up all the items myself so i dont look like an *** trying to get a crewmax loaded for 29k invoice and 33k msrp.

I don't know...It worked for me on my DC and gave me exact invoice ( I matched it with the dealer's). Then I did my calculations removing delivery, taking out 2% hold back, reinserting delivery and had what the dealer actually paid. Started my battle at 5% above the actual dealer cost.
