Default Ordered Truck Delivery Time

I ordered a Tundra DC 2 weeks ago, and the dealer told me it would be here in about 2 weeks. It is not here and I can't get a date that it will be here. Here's my question, and I hope some of the dealers on the site can help me.

When I look at the Southeast Toyota listing of trucks, I do not see one with my configuration and color coming in the next 2 months. Is it not showing up because it is pre-sold (to me)? Or, is the dealer just hoping one like I ordered will show up somewhere and that they can trade for it?

Also, I'm trading in a car. What about the new, announced last week, $1,000 incentive money for people with trade ins? Should I get all or part of it added to my deal?

How long past the 2 weeks should I wait before I can consider the deal called off?

After another week of waiting should I go toa high volume dealer and try to see if they can get the truck somehow?

I know this is a lot of questions; thanks for your input.

first off, what system are you looking for said truck in? If it isnt the dealer daily system at a dealership, then it doesnt mean much

also, if a dealer has been allocated that truck and put it in reserve status then you are right, it would not show up on anyones report except the dealer that has it on reserve. But they would sure be able to tell you that.

as far as your trade in money is concerned, two things , one is that I cant really speak for how that region does something so I wont even guess. Two is it isnt what incentives are available when you order the truck, it is what incentives are current when the truck gets here. They could go up or down by then.

who at the dealership did you order the truck from? No one with any brains at all would have told you that a order truck would take 2 weeks. I would have told you 2 months if we are lucky and 4-5 if it is a really different configuration.

if you say that there are not any trucks in your entire region, it wont matter what volume dealer you are at if you are trying to get one quickly. But a high volume dealer can try to change one inbound to come in like yours and has a good shot of getting it unless you have a weird combo for that region.

This may be the time to give up on the jbl system and get a truck sooner and add your own suped up system later.

Thanks Cory. I talked with salesman today and he said they weren't getting a truck with close to my specs until about May 1st. He asked me to be patient as usualy he can trade for a truck easily within 2 weeks or so of the order. I still don't know if my truck specifically has been ordered.

Today is a perfect example of how you cant rely on this damn Toyota system. I have a truck that was ordered, it shows in the Toyota system that it was supposed to arrive between the 23rd and 26th of March. It still isnt here. Sucks, because I have to make that phone call every day to tell this customer and It aint like I have anything to say. All I can really say is that it aint here yet, I will call you again tomorrow. So the system sucks all the way around

I'm disappointed in my salesman. He doesn't know when my truck will arrive. I'm now requesting prices and arrival dates from other dealers. I don't know if he really cares.

I ordered mine before the release date and didn't pay full MSRP. $2139 off, then the trade-in allowance took off another $1000
