07 tacoma DC TRD off road with side curtain airbags 4X2 $?
We are going to buy within the month, I was of paying something in the high 22k to the low 23k. The carsdirect price is $23,500. Think I could do better than this?

Just FYI...CarsDirect is nothing more than a huge on-line brokerage. They like to spit out low prices 'cause they don't actually buy the cars. All they do is refer you to a local dealer, which is fine if you're a one stop shopper, but if you like to find the best deals, you'll find it makes more sense to have more than one or two dealers bid for your business.
I'm not saying that they can't get you a good price, but with all the tools you have available to you on the internet, you can put your own deal together and control the transaction.
CD is lucky if they can close 20% of their inquiries.
CarsDirect will let you configure a vehicle almost anyway you want, but doesn't specify how likely your selections match the market you live in. Of course, most websites don't offer such 411 either. CD also does not list invoicing prcing (anymore) and they tend to be vary vague about incentives and such.
What I could have said in one sentence: theiy're in cahoots with the dealerships as dealers pay them for leads.
One more thing...CD "vehicle specialists" are all comissioned based and will try to sell you a bunch of back-end crap too!

im sure I could manage to find one in L.A.?
Are you saying that CD gives you an impossible price? I got a quote from a dealer for $23,900 for that truck. Im sure you could do better than the price they give you, with some haggling

Our region doesnt order them with side airbags but that region might.
cars direct doesnt give you an impossible price, but they will give you a price on a truck that you might not be able to get without a special order. If the truck is in stock, most of the time you can get a better price then carsdirect

Not what I'm saying at all, but CD doesn't set the prices, the local dealers that they work with do. You have to understand that there's a big difference between someone like me, who negotiates car deals for people and CD; I have no allegiance to one particular dealer, nor would I ever take a kick-back. I'm hired by my customers and work for my customers. I'm on their side 100%!
Auto brokers may claim to be working for you by taking a small fee, but they typically are in cahoots with dealers and take kick-backs from them, and that is truly the way they make their money.
CD service is free to you, the consumer, 'cause dealerships buy advertising and get spooned leads. CD makes their money off dealers, not you, so why would their allegiance claim to be with the customer.
