This is a discussion thread titled "Longo Toyota Service Department", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
about a month ago i had a oil leak on my NEW Toyota Tundra i took it to longo and they repaired it late the next day ... 2 days later take my truck to AEM to have it prototyped for a intake and they opened the hood and the oil cap was missing and oil was everywhere in the engine bay ..... i complained and they promised to fix it
3 weeks ago my gas door fell off and longo said they would get me a new one ... 2 days later parts department got the door in and i went to pick it up ... it wasnt painted .... so i give it to the service department and they said they would have it painted so i wait a week and go back to see if it is done (i have recieved no calls at all from the service department yet ) no it isnt done ... and they say to come back thursday .. i come back thursday and they still dont have it ... last night i went back and it was finally painted but there were fish eyes all over in the paint and the clear wasnt sprayed properly ... by this time my truck was in the back of the dealer and they had it back there getting it washed ... so i told them i wouldnt take the gas door and to bring my truck back up ... (the truck was back there a total of 20 minutes ) so today AEM wanted the truck again to test fit my intake and to install it for me ...when the truck got there they called me and told me that my oil cap was missing and there was oil everywhere in my engine bay ... THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED FROM LONGOS SERVICE needless to say i am f--ing pissed and the service writer told me that they didnt touch my truck it was just "sitting back there " well a week ago when i checked my oil it was fine and today it has oil everywhere ... something doesent add up and i will NEVER USE LONGO FOR SERVICE AGAIN
at this point i no longer want this truck and i will probally trade it in ... i am so pissed off right now
who would i complain to other then the dealer who doesent really care ...
as i was writing this the service writer just called back and said he will clean the engine bay for me yes this will make me happy for now but i am still very upset at longos service

I quit going to Northridge Toyota even though had free oil changes from them after they kept getting oil and grease all ove rmy interior. Made numerous complaints and comments about it which never helped. Remember dropping it off once and saying "I want extra grease on the door panels." The service writer never figured out my sarcasm even after explained it to him. I now go to Frontier Toyota in Valencia and have been EXTREMELY HAPPY with their service.

Find another dealership. I had to do that several years ago.
i took it back to the dealer this evening and they are suprised at the damage the oil discolored the hood made the master cylnder resivor yellow, the foam on the intak manifold is damaged the black sound deadening on the firewall is all covered in oil and the harness for the coils and vvti solenoid has the electrical tape peeling because the oil is eating it up .... he said he cant authorize the repair and the manager would have to see it so i will probally take it back in the morning so they can order the parts
and my gas cap door isnt ready ... they told me they are going to order another one and paint the new one i dont understand why they cant just sand it and do a proper paint job on the other one
i am probally going to contact the BBB just to make sure the job gets done correctly
Sounds like gross incompetence to me, I would take my truck to another dealer asap those guys are bunch of clowns I feel your pain I would be pissed as well if it was my truck!
you won't find me at Longo... thats the problem with big dealerships, customers are a dime a dozen, so they dont really care. If your looking for a new dealer I strongly recommend Toyota of Glendora, service advisor Danny Llamas. I've been going there for the past 4 years, and they always go ABOVE AND BEYOND what is asked. Good luck and hopefully everything gets taken care of !
I feel the same way about Longo. I took my Highlander there for an oil change, as I have since the vehicle was new. Three days later the check engine light illuminated. I went to my local Auto Zone and borrowed a code reader. The numbers showed a problem with the evaporative emissions sustem. I recorded the number and did a search on TS. Fortunately it is a common problem. Apparently when the air filter is checked, a vacuum tube can be dislodged. I checked the air filter housing and sure enough, a tube was not attached. I reattached the tube and reset the light. No more problems. I called Longo service department and asked to speak with a service manager. After a few minutes, someone identifying himself as a service manager answered. I explained the situation to him, and he told me to bring the vehicle in so they could check it. I told him that I had already fixed the problem, but wanted them to know about the situation. He did not seem to be the least bit interested, other than to tell me to bring the Highlander in for them to check it out. That was the last time that I will spend any money at Longo Toyota.
well i brought my truck again to longo last sat morning to talk to the manager like they said i needed to ... and when i did he told me that other cars in the USED car section had yellow engine harness problems .. and i had nothing to worry about ... i replied back to him ... i brought a new truck in for service her not a used car. (my truck had 275 miles when it was serviced ) then he told me he didnt have the authorization to say yes to fix my truck. that upset me because the whole reason i brought it in at 7am on a sat. is because i needed a manager to authorize the repair .. so he said i had to wait till monday or tuesday to get it approved
they did finally get my gas door painted properly this morning .. only took 2 months
TODAY:
Mark (service manager) called me today and said they approved repair and they are changing my engine harness, brake master cylnder and breather hose after getting off the phone with him i was wondering how much the harness would cost so i called another toyota dealer and asked .. they said the harness would be about $2475.00 yikes! no wonder they didnt want to approve the repair i didnt bother asking how much the master cylnder and the hose cost because i can tell this repair is going to cost about $3200-$3500 by time labor is factored in and htey offered to paint the underside of my hood if i wanted them to but i said no because i might be able to remove the discoloration with some rubbing compound and it would look better like that then repainting the hood
i will be happy once this is all over and i will never use longo's service again
after they finish the repair of the vsc system they are going to do the repairs to fix what they damaged before .. engine wire harness, master cylnder, breather hose and clean the engine again
