This is a discussion thread titled "$5K off MSRP", within the Pricing and Dealers forum, part of the Marketplace Forums category.
I called Champion Toyota of Houston and they said the $8k off msrp is only on the 4.7.
Dang, that sucks... probably haven't a hard time selling the 4.7. I've got an email in to the internet sales group. I'll let you know if I hear anything different.
I bought my 5.7 DC SR5 TRD (backup cam, bucket seats, 6 disc etc...) for $4000 off msrp ($31500) 3 weeks ago and thought that was good. They would not budge below that. Just finished debadge, left tundras' on the doors.
Champion Toyota in Austin, TX sells all regular and double-cabs for $4500 off MSRP, regardless of engine, etc. My 4x4 LTD 5.7 DC stickered right around $40k, and I paid $35,500, without negotiating. It had NO BS port-installed options either. They also include free oil changes for life, which is worth something on the new Tundra, with it's odd oil filter and complex oil-change procedure.
Another dealer in Austin said I "may" be able to get $1000 off MSRP... RIGHT, whatever man. One lost customer...
Edit: I failed to mention, they "Forgot" that my truck had a spray-in bedliner, and very nice running boards installed. I ended up getting these free on top of the $4500 off MSRP.

You guessed it. I've gone into that place several times over the past few years, and they alway insult me, and always lost a sale.
My experiences there have just been horrible. I don't know how they stay in business. I live in Leander and drove all the way down to Champion, and it was worth it.
yes i've had the same experiences as you, once went there with a printed add from maund toyota giving $5k off any v8 tundra in stock (this was in 2002), and they simply said "we won't match other dealers". fine, i walked out and bought the truck at maund with a no-haggle $5k off that very day.
Hometown Toyota? I am thinking I should have waited and maybe have gotten a sweeter deal!
Where did you buy your 07 Tundra?
Sorry, been out of town a few days. Yes, Steve's Hometown Toyota. I tried to buy mine there but they kept stinging me along on delivery. I went to NC to get mine, equipped almost exactly like I wanted and a killer deal at the time.
