Default Looking at the Prius

Hello all, i am looking at purchasing a Prius to replace my wifes 02 camry v6.. I wanted to see if there is any major cons about the Prius.. I kno all about the pros. My wife drives 15-20K a year so fuel economy, reliabliity and durability is all important to me. My major question is, the Prius that i am looking at is the Prius with option package c or possibly d, how are the dealers negociating on the prices? The prius is listed at 25K is it realistic to ask 23K from the dealer? thanks for the hlep.. o yea and are the deals going to get better or worse during the summer?

I recently made the switch, traded a VW Turbo Bettle for the Prius which my wife drives, I've done a lot of research before taking the plunge, so far we have averaged 46mpg( still breaking it in) if they are asking 25K you might get it for 24K at 23K it would be a steal! Some dealers have been marking them up to 2K above sticker and they are selling as price of gas keeps going up and will most likely stay high through the summer, I bought the Package #6 which includes Navigation and also has leather as the center console would probably wear quickly if it was covered with cloth(I have also installed leather "Katzkin" in my Tundra as the cloth is cheap and thin) Anyways, my sticker on the Prius was 29K minus factory incentive of 2K due to the package = 27K got excellent trade in value so in the end I feel as I have payed 25K for it. Whenever I need to make a trip I use the Prius as it hardly uses any gas especially when I'm in stealth mode As far as cons, I hear some of them not handling well in high wind but so far I have not had any issues, tires and alignment affect handling greatly.

I mean color is not my biggest concern. I dont understand why on the biuld your own, there is like five choice but when you look on the options page on toyota.com it gives like six, or seven options. I am hoping to get a prius with nav for about 23?,, is that reasonable? I can also get 0.0 for 60 months from toyota of walnut creek as long as it has a nav system.. Am i expecting to much?

I would say you are expecting too much. 23 for a package 5 would be over $1000 under invoice. I dont know how they are offering you zero percent right now since Toyota isnt. I would research that a little bit more

no specials on the prius right now. I would wait to see if tuesday brings any new incentives. Right now, depending on what you score is, 6.79 or something around that is the lowest through toyota. Credit unions locally are a bit lower.

I thought you mentioned that you wanted one with nav, the cheapest package with nav is package 5 and here is what msrp would be on the car. So 2k off of sticker would be it over 24k Of course package 4 would be cheaper but would not have nav

I would recommend that if you want a deal, you should buy sooner rather than later. The Prius' are starting to become very short in supply, and for some reason, there is nothing showing as coming in. If supply and demand drives the market, then fewer Prius' available plus higher gas prices means the longer you wait the more it will cost you.
