Does anyone know what regions of the country are actually honoring this price reduction deal? My dealer here in Maryland claims he knows nothing about it......
The discount should show right on the factory sticker of the vehicle near the bottom. Just as an example, the NL package equipped Prius' here have a MSRP of $26,274. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

It is a great deal and I will travel a reasonable distance if I have to to get the extra 2,000 off on the NL package.....
to Toyota on this.... big ads, big hype on the web..... nothing in reality.
It was not up to the dealer to honor this. Toyota actually lowered the price on all of the Priuses , some as much as 2k,
Then they sent out new window stickers to the ones we had . As Alan stated, you see the discount right on the window sticker. IT IS NOT A REBATE. They lowered the prices. First time I have seen this happen in 11 years being with Toyota
The market is saturating fast with these Priuses. There are plenty to go around now. Also there is no more Tax incentive in most areas.
Toyota got creative to push the Prius.
Production went rapid as of recent and many who remember price gauging on the Prius several years ago were really turned off by this.
Dealers got greedy. What else is new????
But in the end Toyota Allows Dealers to charge anything they want.
It's all about the regional market and its demographics.
Dealers are known to Hide a MFR's major discount pricing campaign.
If yu don't go to a dealer "Armed" yu will be "Harmed.

some dealers make what the can when they can. It is called business. We never have marked them up but I can understand why some do. NO one feels sorry for the dealers when they sell loser deals. Whether you believe it or not, dealers lose money on plenty of cars. I remember one dealer was known for adding leather to every single prius and charging 5k for it. That is pretty messed up But in this instance, there was no choice. New window stickers were sent out and Toyota audited the dealers to make sure it happened. No lose situation. There are plenty out there but if you are looking for the loaded ones, it is still hot commodity. we have a waiting list for package 5s and 6s even now.

Preferred Dealer or not...I feel that Monroney's should never be allowed to change once a vehicle is manufactured. It is not ethical. Yes, it is Business. And the Feds allow manufacturers to do this now and don't want to regulate this any more.
In many years past, it was Illegal to do let alone not ethical.
But VERY VERY bad business in the end result.
And consumers of late are educated. Dealers don't have the luxury of "Blowing off' this type of customer any longer. The educated consumer became the majority of the client base in this day and age.

Well for the first time in the 12 years I have been with Toyota the Msrp went down and was in the customers favor. In some cases by up to $2000 I didnt think there would be much complaining about that. I have never seen it go up on a car that already had a sticker on it. This is the first time I have ever seen them lower it and send out new stickers.
The other thing I was saying was that some unethical dealers were marking them up above and beyond sticker and inflate extra options on them to make additional profit. While I know it is business. I dont condone such a practice and would not buy a car from a dealer like that either.
