Default connecting a trickle charger

We are going away for a few months and have bought a small trickle charger to connect to our 2008 Prius to stop the battery going flat. Is it ok to connect it to the jump start terminal under the bonnet? It would be much easier to put it there than trying to get to the battery in the back.

Question Re: connecting a trickle charger

Is there no one that can answer my question? Surely there must be someone that has used a battery minder?
You can test the charge of the battery from the jump start position so why not attach the battey minder that to save trying to get to the battery in the back?
