Tweeter and Speaker Wiring Question

I bought a 2004 used hybrid and noticed that the front door speakers did not work. When I removed the door panel I noticed that the tweeter was not hooked up. After I checked the speaker (it was O.K.) I found that the wires to the tweeter had been cut and I removed that RF and it had cut also. There were four wired going to the tweeter on each side ;my question is would these wires being cut kill the front speaker and if that is true can it be corrected other that replacing the missing wires and plugs ? Followup on my speaker problem- Yes ,the wires going to the tweeters does control the main door speakers. If the tweeter harness is cut or disconnected the door speaker will not work. I matched the cut wires and spliced them together and the main speakers came to life. I couldn't reconnect the tweeters because I don't have the connector plug and most salvage yards will not cut up a harness for something this small.
