Alot of computers like HP/Dell and such, crash everyday, lock-up, turn off at will. People have their lives stored and run with these computers.
People are still buying them at amazing rates.
The PRIUS is just like them. They have their GLITCHES, but after having reprogrammed "ALOT" of them. I have yet to see one return for the same stalling, shutting off issue. The people who own them understand, they have many many computers on-board and they need updating.
I personnal dont own a PRIUS, but LOVE THEM. I like working on them. They are challenging and interesting to try to understand and repair. I dont even remember doing a brake job on 1 , and that has been since they came out.
There is a 6 month waiting list here in NV for a new one.
The PRIUS isnt going to hurt toyota. IMO
Heck the new ford is a 02 prius in disguise. Ford bought the rights to use the drive train, couldnt figure out how to make the electronics work and had to buy the rights to TOYOTAS electronics. Toyota is leading the way in HYBRID TECH. There are always gonna be issues. "IT'S MAN MADE"
I also tink TOYOTA will lead the industy in the HYDROGEN CELL vehicle too, and i am sure there will be issues with that.
That article to me is just the MEDIA blowing things out of proportion as they always do, just to get a rise out of people.
This wont hurt TOYOTA
Just my (.02)
