Extended Warranty&Maintenance Plan

I just bought a 2006 Prius w/pkg8 (Metallic Gray) and I was wondering if there is any value in purchasing an extended warranty and/or a maintenance plan. It seems that the warranty that the car comes with is pretty extensive and that there is almost no maintenance.

I have a 2004 Package 9 with 56000. Had I not had the extended warranty. the touch-panel display would have been over $1300. Plus it paid for a toyota rental for the three days it took the dispay to come in. Interesting problem... It would show neutral power i.e. no power to/from engine or battery @ 70 mph, as well as changing radio and air conditioning status. Weird.. Paid "Toyota Platinum 7 yr /100,000 mile Extra Care
plan w/ 0 deductible for $990.00 on the Prius" Paid for itself on first use!!!
