Question Battery Life Expectancy

What is the battery life expectancy of the Prius?

I have a 2001 with over 180,000 miles on it and I have noticed that the battery doesn't quite hold a charge (over night) like it used to.

I'm still getting 46 MPG, but I'm worried that I should buy a new car.

What do you think?

Toyota's research stopped at 180,000 miles with no deterioration in performance. IMHO you are 'safe' for another 50-100,000 miles. That's what I'm planning for with my 2005 ( 36 K now ).

Well, I got worried, so I sold it.

I placed a "For Sale" sign in the window and placed in near a busy street. I got a call within 20 minutes and the guy came by and paid cash within the hour.

I sold it for $9,000 which I am putting down on a new Hybrid Highlander.

I can't belive it sold so quickly for having 185,000 miles on it. I guess I priced it too low. Oh well... I think I'll get the salsa red hybrid highlander.
