It appears this website doesn't work with Firefox. I've been unable to login via Firefox. But now that I've switched to Internet Explorer I've finally been able to post something. How very strange.

Anyway, I've just bought a new 07 Prius, pkg #3, w/ leather. I absolutely HATE the driver's seat, which doesn't let me raise or lower it to fit my height. I can see how painful long drives will be in this piece of crap. I also don't like the manual, which is very difficult to find simple information, like how to get to "ACC" or "IG-ON" mode. (I finally found the info, buried in section 4, after reading through hundreds of pages on the stupid Bluetooth setup. Why? Why?)

The JBL sound system is below par as far as I'm concerned. What a waste of money.

So far I'm quite dispappointed with this purchase. I actually was looking for a hybrid minivan, but since none was forthcoming I decided at the last moment to get the Prius, after test driving the hybrid Highlander and found it not at all to my liking.

In summary, the 2007 Prius, at least the US version, is overpriced and under valued, IMO.

Hello! I am, by the way, able to post with Firefox. I purchased my 2001 Prius several years ago used and have loved owning and driving it since. I hope this site will provide me answers to a lot of questions I have such as...

Just where is the outside temperature sensor, anyway? It always seems to read warmer that it should.

Post Looking for more information on 2007 Prius!

Hello everyone,
I'm thinking about buying a 2007 Prius. I downloaded the owners manual at this site. In the back of the manual there is a page that tells about a "Toyota Authorized Repair Manual" that offers "Maintenance procedures for the engine,
chassis, body, electrical system, and more, are clearly explained and illustrated". I couldn't find it here, does anyone know where I can get one?
Rick

Hi all,

I just purchased a 2001 Prius. It's got fairly high mileage (145K), but it runs very well. This is an awesome car! Toyota's scheduled maintenance guide doesn't go this high, though. Any suggestions on maintenance intervals?

Also, from reading the forum, I know that the prius documentation is sparse primarily because it hasn't been a high-demand area. Would it be possible to have things like the Repair manuals, and wiring diagram added to the 2001 prius library?

Cheers,
Eric

hi all,

this is minghi and my prius is 5 months old with 14k miles on it, pkg#2, had a 4runner before but gas prices were killing me with the miles i put, so i bit my "pride" and went for the prius. driving is not bad at all... best part is filling up gas at the pump which always put a smile on my face.

gas mileage:

40 : racing like i used to with my old bimmer miss that
45 : normal driving style ( 80+ on hwy and few pulse glide on local roads)
50 : if i drive smart ( 60-70 mph on hwy and pulse n glide in town )
55 : if i do granny driving
60 : if i do 35-45 mph driving / gliding on local roads with a few hills n slopes

Hi,

I am already a member of the 1st Gen Tundra forum. Just had to chime in.

I purchased a used 2004 Prius Package #9. I bought a used one in order to get the coveted HOV (Carpool lane stickers). Now I can drive in the Carpool lane until 2010.

So far the 04 Prius has been good to us. It had 42K on it when we got it in late May of 07 and so far has close to 60K today. Extended warranty is good for 100K. So far so good; one oil change since then.

What I like:
Filling up at the pump
Driving in the carpool lane
Ease of maintenance. (Not only is filling up at the pump less, the price of changing your own oil is less. 3.3 quarts of synthetic oil every 5000-7500 miles, plus OEM filter, and washer.)
Roomy interior
Hatchback and fold down seats

What I don't like:
That environmentally friendly paint. It is just like the Tundra paint on the hood; very thin.
For the 04-05 Prius, the burgundy painted interior dash and upper door panels; However, some people think it's very modern and cool; disagree .

Would I get another one:
YES, but I may wait for the next generation, I heard it's gonna be a redesign and may come out as a 2010 model. So you'll see it in 09.

Hello everyone,
My wife has a 2005 Prius and I drive a 2000 Tundra. Both excellent vehicles. The wife loves her Prius, but me being a guy, I fantasize about the 07 Tundra. I guess our average mileage is about 30mpg between both vehicles.

I have a 2006 Prius, and Luv It.
I do have one problem with it and was wondering if anyone else has had this problem also.
The last 3 times I have gone to a gas station, My fuel gauge has shown 2 notches above empty. I start fueling my car only to have the pump start shutting off around 4 gallons. I continue adding fuel until I get to 5 gallons.which takes about 15 minutes. I finally get mad and stop the fueling, pay for my gas and drive away. When I start my car, the fuel gauge shows full. This fill up lasts for about 200 - 250 miles. Before this, a full tank has lasted between 400 - 500 miles.
If anyone has had this problem, please let me know.
As I write this,, my car is in the garage having this problem looked into.

Well, most likely going to be trading in my 2005 Tundra Regular Cab Prerunner....got about $3000 in aftermarket stuff in it but 65 miles a day commuting is not working out very good, and it being mostly city, the Prius seems like the best solution, i will miss off roading but i wont miss passing gas stations

Well, I did it. WE had a 2000 Tundra that we traded in on a 2005 MR2 which is still one of my favorite cars I’ve ever owned. Unfortunately, due to an aging body I was no longer able to drive the MR2 so I traded it in on a 2008 Black Package #5 Prius.

Thus far I love it. All though I’ve only put 150 miles on it I can see that I can travel in this car in comfort. Thus far I’ve averaged 46 mpg.
