Default Recommendation for compiling DIY .DOCs and .PDFs

Mods~

A lot of members have, over the years, submitted some excellent DIY posts. In a large portion of those, the poster has attached a well-made .DOC or .PDF file with instructions and images of the step-by-step they went through. If the post, for whatever reason, doesn't get moved to the DIY Sticky, then it gets buried and a time-consuming search might find it - if you're lucky.

May I recommend the creation of a link to a repository akin to the DIY sticky that holds a copy of all these attachments separately from their original posts so that they can be referenced and found far more easily?

Opinions?

Duff

This is a great idea.

I've tried to encompass the attached PDF/Doc from the DIY article to the DIY Sticky if applicable. But I may have missed some. I'd appreciate any help offered to better our DIY Sticky. A short PM with the link would be enough. Just give me some time to sort it out.

I totally agree with you on the search thing too. If there's a well documented PDF/Doc from the originator, why not just post that instead of the thread where it's buried?

Thanks again, I'll keep an eye out for easy plug-ins to our sticky. Hmmm, I've got dozens of saved files from members' posts, time for some reviewing I guess. Maybe you have some too? Care to send them to me? tundradrenalin@live.com

Thanks Andy.

You're right. Some posters have done some great DIY work and took the time to create a DOC or PDF with pics of what they did and they are a GREAT resource.

I'll see what I can compile myself and forward to you via email. Here are a few as an example of what we're talking about...
