Suggestion: Product/Vendor Review Forum - Toyota Tundra Forums : Tundra Solutions Forum

How about a product review / vendor review forum that is supported by member reviews?

For instance:

--You buy a product and install it, try it for a little while and then write a review about the product on the forum. Were the instructions written well? Did the product perform as expected? etc.

--You use a specific vendor and want to spread the word about their quality service and/or expertise. (or lack there of)

I think this would be a great opportunity to categorize our reviews into a separate forum for easy searching access. What do you all think? Would you use it? Good idea? Bad idea?

I've seen this type of thing on other forums and personally I think it's a great way to convey to other members what's good and what's bad. Because we all know that some things we buy for our trucks are just terrible, yet some are can't-live-without.

I believe this was proposed some years ago (maybe even a thread still exists) but was never followed thru on because Lon and TS didn't want overly negative reviews posted of vendors sponsoring TS.com just like the site doesn't really allow overly negative reviews of Toyota without concrete evidence.....when you have sponsors they can and often dictate how they can be portrayed on yor site otherwise they remove their sponsorship

That is so true Pete. More people report on negative outcomes than they do on positive outcomes. Basically because if it works, there's no more problem and no need to revisit the site. If it doesn't work, we need to come back and express our disregard again. I've had some really good experiences with many of our vendors and their products and I'd like to express some support for them. Additionally, I've had some nice experiences with some other businesses and I'd like to relay to other members those experiences. Thanks for the comments Pete. I still want to do this and think that if we have negative reviews, over time, we will gain some positive reviews of the same product/service and people can make the decision themselves. Nothing is perfect.

yep I remember it....

and yes that is why I always try to give props to vendors on TS.com (because you rarely see it)...I've done it for AZTrucks (onki nerf boards), Truckgadets (retrax), McNeil Automotive (Weathertech floor liners), Everythingoffroad.com (Onki hybrid nerf boards)...

Hey I'm all for product reviews...just would hope people can be unbiased and report what they perceive without slandering a whole organization over what might be a once-in-a-blue-moon occurence.
