Default How-To: Upload Photos to Your Photo Gallery

5/21/2009

This is a tutorial that will explain how to upload photos, pictures, diagrams, PDFs, mp3s, mpgs, etc. to your photo gallery.

To get to your photo gallery:
  1. login to TS, then
  2. click on the Photo Gallery from the main page, or
  3. click on the Camera Icon in one of your posts.

You are now in the Member Photo Gallery.

Next, click on the Add Category button as seen here:

Ok, I already have 11 photo galleries linked to my profile. You have none? Well, let's add one. Here's how.

Click on the Add Category button at the bottom, I've circled it in RED.

Good going, you're on the way to photo gallery bliss.
--Now add a Category Title, and if you're adding more than one category you may want to add a Description.
--Want to make it a private gallery? No problem, add a Password in the provided blank.
--This will be only accessible by member's you share this password with, DO NOT MAKE THE PASSWORD THE SAME AS YOUR LOGIN PASSWORD.
--Click the Add Category button at the bottom when you're done.

On the next screen, you'll see the Categories you've created.
--Click the one you just made. My new one is highlighted in
RED.

Now that you're on this screen, you can Edit the category or you can start uploading pics. You can edit the category anytime, so let's start uploading some pics!
--Click Upload on the command bar.

Next, you will begin the Photo Uploading process.
--Browse your computer files to find the pic you want.
--Add a title.
--Add a description.
--Add keywords to enhance the search for when other member's want to search the photo galleries (this step is optional).
--Click Submit at the bottom of the page.

You've uploaded a picture! Good job. You can stop now, but why? Now you can start playing with the options.

Rating pictures.
--Same as you would on YouTube.
--Click the drop down menu Rate Image.

Image Tools.
--Here you can make edits to the pictures, print images, write replies, set as category image, and also report inappropriate images to the moderator staff.

Edit the image Rotation and the image taglines, image title, description, do it all here.

I'm going to set this image as the Category Image. Kind of like a preview for the category I just made. Once I've chosen my command, I'm going to press the button Perform Action.

Ok, so now you've had a chance to upload images to your photo gallery and also browse some other members' galleries. Time to get back to your main photo gallery for some more uploading!
--Click on the button in the command line called My Stuff.
--Then click My Images.

Congratulations! You are now master of your photo gallery domain. You can now use this gallery to add pics to your forum posts at any time. You will never have to worry about your images being deleted either, unlike some other internet photo uploading websites, this one is yours and it's directly connected to your TundraSolutions forum profile. Also, this photo gallery will automatically resize your pics to fit within TS maximum photo size standards. (note: I resized the pics in this post prior to uploading, crapp image quality I know)

Alright, now go upload some of your own pics!
