Wow. I haven't been to this site for a little while and come back to find this site a frigging billboard. I mean some ads are ok but this is out of hand. WTF.
Anyone else agree

While I am not thrilled with ads this site must see some revenue to keep it going. People could not possibly have this all set up by volunteering all of their time and servers... gotta have income to keep things alive.
Honestly I don't really pay much attention to the ads anymore... I am here for the wonderful knowledge and assistance that the people who participate have to offer. TS rules!

How do you expect TS to continue to operate without revenue? Ads are what pay the bills.

It's telling that you took the time to complain about something you get for free... as a friend of mine says "what do you want for nothing, your money back?"
How come I don't see the word "supporter" under your member name where you cared enough to donate some funds to help keep the forum running without so many ads?
If you don't like them, then do something about it like the members above suggested using Firefox w/adblock.

To be honest I do not understand all this talk about ads. I was immunized against commercials and advertisements as a child so I have never noticed them.
Seriously - I tune out commercials and advertisements. I can certainly understand the need for them and do not think they are overwhelming. As several others pointed out this forum is loaded with useful information and helpful members so I am grateful for it.

It's more or less just a matter of installing the addons to firefox.
Adblock plus works hands free. The beauty of adblock is that you can determine if it blocks just the ad you see (does this automatically).....or you can right click and have it block the host entirely with just a click.
I have noscript setup to "OK" sites. I determine whether or not I want them to run flash/java or install cookies. It's very easy but some are lazy.
Both of these are easily reversible if you click the wrong thing.
Hope this helps,
Jon

Well, I use adblock with Firefox but just had to re install whole operating system so it's not tuned quite yet.
I would love to support this site but in these time I feel it is more important to support my family. THis is a great site and I do appreciate it being here for us free of charge.
