Hi my MIL has a 2001 Rav with 60,000 miles on it....she keeps it in excellent condition. Lately she has been noticing blue smoke when she starts the Rav up, she had the oil checked and it was down a bit...not a lot. Is it burning oil? Or, could it be something else?
it is burning oil. it is due to not changing the oil enough. tell her to change
it every 3000 miles and check it regularly.
had a 05 highlander in the shop last summer that was going through 7 quarts every two weeks. owner said " i changed it at 16,000 miles, 36,000 miles, and i think once since then." yspert
