"The iconic Toyota RAV4 continues to set the benchmark for the highly competitive SUV market in Europe with outstanding driving performance, great versatility and now, even more style and refinement. The Toyota RAV4 was the best selling SUV in Europe in 2006. The result also marked a new European sales record for RAV4 of 120,000 in a single year. For the first half year of 2007, over 70,000 units have been sold throughout Europe, topping sales charts..."

Toyota, bring us a 3rd Gen RAV4 w/ a 2.2L D4D engine! That is more important to me than any other configuration change on the RAV4.

What happened to the spare hanging off the back? Where is Toyota offering the tire repair kit in place of the rear door spare???

The picture shows the European spec RAV4 with the top of the line 2.2 D4D engine (at least here in Germany). Without the spare tire, run-flat tires are standard. The 2.0 gas and base 2.2 diesel engines have the spare on the rear.

That looks a thousand percent better without that spare tire hanging off the back.

That spare tire has been an eye-saw to me since the inception of the RAV model.

I've seen so many Rav's with bashed in tailgates because the spare hangs out too much. The early RAV's had really NO rear bumper at all.

I'm not an advocate of Run-Flats.

But...whatever floats your boat. Or Toyota's boat I should say.
