RAV4General discussion forum for the Toyota RAV4.
This is a discussion thread titled "JBL Radio in RAV4", within the RAV4 forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Does anyone have an 07 or 08 Limited with the JBL radio and subwoofer? I was wondering how the quality was. I had an 04 Rav with the standard 6 speaker radio and I was VERY disappointed with it.
Even a basic upgrade to most Japanese imports provide superb quality boost. I put a $150 clarion receiver/tape in my wifes honda with a pair of moderate quality sony 6" dia speakers and the sound was more than acceptable. I am an Audiophile too. Maybe a speaker upgrade - then the CD/receiver usually no need to spend more than 300-400 for a total system. Try Crutchfield.
We have an 08 Rav4 L, JBL system is a good system. I also have the 6cd non JBL in my 07 DC Tundra (which I'm in the process of replacing) and can relate to the booo to the toyota stock speakers in the non JBL systems.
It sounds good, but we just had to get the JBL replaced in the wife's RAV limited. Display crapped out intermittently, and when it was out the radio couldn't be powered off except by shutting off the engine.
