Default 2006+ RAV4 Off Road

I'm looking at buying a 2006+ RAV 4. I've got it narrowed down to a RAV4 or a Subaru Outback. How does the RAV4 do off road? Mud, old logging roads etc.

I have no idea - what I do know is that last year when it snowed, I had no problems getting out of my driveway by putting my 2006 RAV4 in 4wd. (I don't like to shovel)

I don't have any experience off road w/my 08 RAV4. But I have a steep driveway and we have already had plenty of snow. My model has hill descent assist which keeps you at a constant slow speed down a slipery slope. The RAV also has a differential lock that u can use in low gear to get out of a jam that AWD can't handle alone. Those two features offer a world of difference. maybe your 06 is different, but thats whats on my 08.
