Default Rav 4 Gen 2 4wd, suspension ?'s

Hi all
Read many posts about suspension stuff, but, no answers.
What can be done to stiffen up ride? New shocks? Does that help?
Coil springs? Are there spacers or progressive rate springs out there?

Not looking to make it ride like my 2 Toyota trucks.
Do tow occasional sm. cargo trailer.

Is there a list of options out there?
Front struts seem to work "OK" but rear is whimpy.

Thanks for ideas/help/
