RAV4General discussion forum for the Toyota RAV4.
This is a discussion thread titled "pics of our new Rav4 in Barcelona red!!", within the RAV4 forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
Hello, great looking ride you have there. I'm DYING for information on what the MPG is on the 4 cyl. engine, could you post some numbers? My wife and I have been looking at the Highlander (4 cyl 4x4) for awhile, (I really wanted the 4 Runner, but 16 mpg, plus probably won't fit in my tiny garage with my 2002 Tundra). I think that this RAV4 is the vehicle for us, it appears to be as big as the Highlander, but sharper looking. It should get around at least 23 mpg in non-highway driving, which is what it is rated for. Any other info you could share would be great. Also, I need to wait and see what the crash test results are going to be, the Highlander and last RAV4 both did very well for their class, I'm needing this new RAV to earn the same high marks. cheers, Jaderain
It appears you have the JBL sound system in the your RAV. Do you also happen to have the factory subwoofer option? If so, what size speaker is it and how does it sound?
My wife has a 2001 (already trying to talk her into a new one ), and the sound system has always been "lacking", to put it nicely. I'm really into aftermarket audio systems, but the wife has never allowed me to touch her baby, even for a small tube sub. So, I'm hoping a non-intursive factory option might be an option.
Any chance, if you have the factory sub, that you could post a few pictures?
Thanks, in advance.

Yes we have the JBL which includes the sub in the rear door. I have not measured it but it looks to be about 10" speaker..

Integrated into the rear door? Cool.
I've seen some pictures of the FJ's subwoofer option, but it looks more like a truck box secured to the side in the rear, above the passenger wheelwell.
If it's part of the door, and doesn't intrude on storage space, I think I can sell the wife on it.
How many speakers in the rest of the package? Are there components in the rear, as well as the front? Does that include the 6-disc or single disc? Is it MP3 capable?
Sorry for all the questions. My local dealer had one on the lot last weekend, but it was locked up, no sales on Saturdays.
Thanks, again.

Its funny when they say "9 speakers".........I kept only counting 7 in ours, till you hit on that they're calling a 2-way coaxial speaker as "2 speakers"
So yes, you get 4 tweeters, 4 mids, and a sub in the rear doors.
440 watts of power, JBL speakers, and it rocks hard for a stock OEM stereo.
Nice color red. I miss chrome: It would look very nice with a shiny chrome bumper and trim...
I'm with YOU! I just ordered an entire exterior chrome kit for my RAV and an internal burlwood trim kit for it. I think a little chrome will really stand out on the car and make it look more distinctive.
