Thanks! Got it done locally in Tulsa, OK. Got it done by the guy that does all of the installs for the local Lexus dealership. My local Toyota dealership told me that clear bras are a dealer installed option at Lexus, so to call them and find out who they use. Worked out great, but was probably slightly higher than I would have paid had I comparatively shopped a little more, but it came with a lifetime warranty.

I'm not sure if it's available at all Lexus dealerships, but it is here.

The guy that did the install cut all of the pieces as he went and wrapped the edges around all of the body panels, so there are no visible gaps along the edges of body panels.

Thanks again for the compliments and feel free to ask for any additional info. I'll do my best to respond.

James

Oh, ok. So I'm assuming then that as long as the dealer agrees, it can be done for just about any vehicle? It's a fantastic idea, and honestly, I scoffed at it before I saw the pix because I thought it would look bad. But it looks awsome, and I want to look into it. Thank you for the information!

I have seen it done on a lot of different vehicles. We, also, have my wife's Camry done.

The Lexus dealership didn't actually do the work. They gave me the reference for the installer that they use rather than do the work themselves. They said "that it is a very difficult process to master and they didn't want to have people calling them to do installs on cars not purchased from them." The installer said he installs them on any make and model. While my Rav was getting done, he had a Porsche Cayenne and some big old Lincoln in the shop getting done, too. While I was there, a customer brought in a Cadillac that he had done an install on previously. The Cadillac had been hit on the hood by about a 12 inch long piece of metal that came off a truck on the interstate at better than 60 mph. It hit on the area of the hood that was covered by the film. The film was torn, but there was no damage to the hood at all. He peeled off the torn piece and replaced it in a very short amount of time. That tells me a lot about the strength of the film. I know it's not indestructible but if the metal hit hard to tear the film, it certainly would have left a nice scratch on the hood if the film wasn't there.

I had mine installed a few days after I purchased the Rav and completely independent of the deal to buy the Rav because I knew the dealership would try to add a markup to it and felt like I was giving them enough of my money already.

Good Luck

James

Oh, I see how it worked. Interesting story about the whole metal hitting the hood ordeal. I guess I've been under a rock lately! What a cool idea. Thank you again for your info and enjoy your Rav!
