Known issues for 1998 rav4?

I just bought a 1998 rav4 with 125,000km on it (75,000 miles) and love it. I have only had it for a few days and I am still getting to know it's foibles such as a schizophrenic fuel guage that moves all over the place, and a faint thumping noise from the rear end that I can't pinpoint (I don't think it's serious but not sure). Does anyone know if these issues are common within the breed and are there others that I should be keeping my eyes out for?
