Hello fellow Rav4 folks!

It's a pleasure to be here and to finally find a base of knowledgeable folks in which I can ask questions that are driving me nuts concerning my new 2006 Rav4 Limited.

First, Hello! I'm so glad you guys are here and I'll be looking to upgrade my membership to a paid basis very soon!

Second, I live in Texas. Down here, every Toyota house insists on using 10W 30 motor oil...even for my 4cyl Rav4. This goes against what the manual states should be used. Is it because of the harsh climates or their cheap butts only stocking certain oils in bulk? I'm a professional fisherman and I drive the wheels off my vehicles...I can't afford to find out later that I've made a critical mistake.

In addition to the above question, has anyone had a tough time properly installing their XM Radio units into the vehicle through the Aux jack? I'm getting almost ZERO sound and debating on how to properly install this unit. Any ideas?

Finally, does anyone know of any good custom suv/truck houses that can order a properly fit bug deflector or mud flaps for the Rav4? All the sites I've seen reference previous models...but I don't buy that they'll fit THIS NEW redesign.

I would not use thicker oil as this may void warranty. Living in TX you would need to check the manual and use the oil they say to use in your type of conditions.
