Default 1997 RAV4 won't start, help.......

Just replaced timing belt on my 1997 RAV4. Broke while in operation. Closin up but installed battery backwards quickly corrected battery install. Engine turns but won't start. Like its not firing or getting any gas. Checked all fuses, fuse box under dash and fuses under hood, all ok. Anyone know of what else I need to check? Thanks in advance............

Check the cam and crank position sensors, crank sensors are notorious for failure.

The reversed polarity could have fried some of the major components like the PCM and ignition module, it may have been a very expensive mistake!

Thanks for your reply. Storm rolled in through the weekend, unable to get back to the car outside. Hope to get back to it tomorrow. Will follow up on all your suggestions, and post results. Thanks again .................

There is a large 100amp fusible link in fuse holder or directly on the positive terminal. It blew as soon as the battery was connected backwards.Replace it and all should be fine, but you may need to check the fuses under the dash as well.I had one of these towed to my shop about 5 months ago that did the same thing.I know the big fuse blew, but I can't remember if any others did or not.The one I had here did NOT damage any other compoants.
