Default Another "is it good enough" question.

Hello everyone,
I know this question has been asked over and over again, but let me start a fresh thread: is the I-4 engine really enough? I have heard the positive many times. And I would actually like to know if anyone has driven them back to back, and noticed such a significant difference that they were swayed to get the six. I have yet to arrange a test drive, but I'd just like to give this a whirl first. Thanks for all your feedback!

There were no 6s available locally when we bought our 4-banger. During the test drive both my wife I stated "why would Toyota even offer a 6cylinder in the Rav?" The salesman reply was only for towing (3500 lbs with the 6, 1500 with the 4). The 4 has plenty of getup, we're averaging 25+ mpgs, and is extremely quiet and smooth running. I have no problems getting it to go when I need it to (pulling into traffic, getting on the freeway, etc.)

Rav4World.com is a web community with the same quality people as here. Visit that site as their have been several discussions about 4 vs 6 and just about everything else you might want to know as well. They're a great group of people who will provide you with quality information so you can make the decision that is best for you.

Everyone's needs and wants are different. I don't believe you can go wrong with either choice. Good luck and let us know the decision you make.

James

IMHO:
I would personally step up to the Highlander. I have had the 06 Rav4 Sport for 3 months & have had issues on mine.

-struts, bearing, rack & pinion(backorder)

Thank you both foremost for your replies, they really do help. I like getting real-world impressions. I am thinking more and more about the four, as most people say it's all they need. Um, the second reply seems odd, though. That's the first I've heard of such a string of problems. Possibly you got the one is a thousand that is faulty?? Let me know how that turns out. Thanks again, guys!
