RAV4General discussion forum for the Toyota RAV4.
This is a discussion thread titled "Ignition key stuck!", within the RAV4 forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
I am new to this forum. I have a 2004 Rav4. I am having a problem with the ignition key sticking. Has anyone else expereinced this? What is the solution? Thanks.
As a newbie to this forum I gotta say I am disappointed in this site.
I asked a simple question and got absolutely no replies. So I searched the forum and did find something, under the TSB, but it costs $15 to get the answer. Swell.
Yes, it is under an extended warranty through Honda (I bought it used at a Honda dealer) and it will be covered. The Toyota dealer did not acknowledge any TSB for this problem.
make sure there is nothing on the shifter shaft. the last one i fixed had a woman's "hair thing" on the shifter and was not allowing the shifter to move all the way into park. yspert
i have a 2003 rav4 and i bumped the shifter from reverse to park and now i can't remove the key from the ignition. i tried to move the wheel and nothing. i also tried to move the shifter back and forth and still nothing. it seems the car dosent know its in park so the security is not letting it lock. the car still runs perfect and gears shift perfect, and the electrical pannel on dash says that its goin into park. is there anything in the shifter that i could have broke? please help me!
