Default New member, old problem...

Hello all. New to the forum and it is impressive.
I recently ended up with two Ravs. One 99 and one 2000.
Both are 4wd automatics.
Now I have always had Nissans (still do) and I am very familiar with them. Toyotas on the other hand are a bit of a mystery. On the 99 Rav I am having fuel gauge problems. When the tank is filled the gauge reads full and slowly drops to just about 3/4 full where it stays until the low fuel light comes on. I tested the gauge circut according to the FSM and it checks out. So its got to be a sender issue. That stated there are two fuel senders in the tank. One on each side. Any one had this issue and which sender do I start with.
Thanks!!
MaxDoc

Default Re: New member, old problem...

this seems backwards but when you look at the wiring diagram, the fuel sender (sub) operates the guage and the fuel sender (main) operates the warning light. rarely do you see guage problems. good luck. yspert
