06 Rav4 fender flares

Just got new set of fender flares to soup up my new toy. Need some advise/warnings/suggestions on instalation if anybody did it themselves since this seems to be like more of advanced skills requiring process. I am sort of do-it-yourself guy and handy around cars, I could handle any job. The only thing I am a bit worried is that main thing holding plastics to the body is double sided sticky tape. Is it really going to hold? How about moisture seeping in?
