01 RAV4, Suspension Problems

Gosh...I hope someone can help me. I've had this "clunking" noise when my car hits bumps. Had it to a garage...they found nothing, said everything was tight. So, I figured maybe I had a broken strut or shock. So, just replaced those. While changing the struts, my husband couldn't get this (Im going to call it a) stabilizer bar, that runs up and down behind the strut, so we had to purchase new ones from toyota so we could cut the others off. (The night before when he tried to get them off and couldnt, he had them a little lose, which made such a loud clunking noise, it sounded like my car was going to break in half!!)

So...he got all four replaced and I still heard a faint clunking, but not near as bad. BUT...the more days that went by the worse it got. Now...my front left is clunking so bad, it sounds like the strut is going to fall off. Almost sounds like when that bar was lose, but my husband checked and said everything looks tight. I don't know what to do, as it doesnt even have to be a bump in the road to make this god aweful sound, and I can hardly stand it anymore, not to mention I'm afraid of something happening when Im driving down the road.

Any suggestions??
