Default 2006 Scion tc ECU/CAN questions

Hi everyone I am new to this forum and I am looking for some information... from what I understand the 06 scion tc came equipped with CAN but my obdII port does not have pin 6 and 14 populated which is what talks to the diagnostics tool. now I thought there might be some other connector since CAN is not yet required in the us so I thought it might be an optional connect to read... I found a connector attached to the knee air bag shield on the underside of the dash its a blue plug that is bridging 2 sets of wires when I disconnected it my key less lock didn't work so I think that might be a key less entry disable. any help would... well help Thank Roy

Here is a picture of the DLC3 connector that we use to access the ECU. It is the only one there is.
Any tester should be able to connect here.

Isn't that the obd II port. and do you have anyway of finding out what protocol the 06 scions used was it controller area network or iso 9141 or both, and if there might be any vin exclusions? thanks

It uses CAN
and that the only access point that I know of.
That's where we plug the TOYOTA Diag Scan Tool into.

Ok the reason I'm asking is I bought an msd ignition dashhawk and would love to keep it but when I plug it in it gives me an error saying that can is not detected...

http://www.dashhawk.com/pdf/Dashhawk...t_Overview.pdf
DashHawk Vehicle Information Display

if you look at page for on the product overview pdf you will see at the bottom "Trick to determining CAN capability" it tells you to look at the #6 and #14 pin in the obd II connector and if their not populated then its not a CAN car... on my obdII #6 and #14 are empty so am I missing something???

I'll have to look at a TC on Monday, and see those pins.
I dont think your missing anything. Their own website says it should work. Your car is listed in their list of vehicles it will work on.
I would call them and ask them.
Your vehicle is CAN compliant.
