ScionGeneral discussion forum for Scion vehicles (Scion xB, tC & xD).
This is a discussion thread titled "Security System/Alarm", within the Scion forum, part of the Cars & Vans Forums category.
for 2007 Scion tc anyone with any suggestions? nothing expensive just need a blinking light that actually does something! That WORKS
If your TC already has Keyless entry, you can upgrade to a RS3200+
You get the cooly wow flashing red light, glass breakage sensor and a seperate remote.

So what are we talking about installed and is it a decent system compared to the basic Clifford which is made by the manufacturer that makes most aftermarket alarms ? any ideas, how good is the 3200 i have not heard much about the OEM system as far as features and prices but will start digging. You let one of the local crack heads come up for air and they will figure out that the blinking light on the tc is just a blinking light and we will be in trouble !!
Here is the RS3200 owners manual. I don't know anything about clifford or viper alarms. I have always used the toyota alarms. I am sure the aftermarket are better, but I would guess more $$ too.
You could install this yourself and save some $$ too.

Hey thanks for file and all ya need out here is a blinking light! Vandalisim is outta control and that is the first thing the Tax return people ask ya, Did ya have any insurance deductables to claim and i guess it's really bad cause i have been hit on my 93 PU X2, i put the clifford alarm on it and have not been hit again yet!
That blinking light is an indicator for the engine immobilizer. Your tC is very difficult to steal unless it gets loaded on to a flatbed. The car can't start without the computer chip in your key. That means it can't be hot-wired. With some fairly sophisticated tools, they can re-program the engine computer to look for a different code, but that's not something your local yokels are going to have.

So ya mean the blinker that it came with is an engine immobilizer feature! and with out the key towing is only way to steal the whole car! Guess i need to find the CD that came with the car or go to scion website and read up on it some! vandals only wanta break windows if ya leave something of value in plane view and you know how many windows this thing has!! just hope we do not get a huge hail storm in near future! Thanks for waking me up!!

No problem. My two jobs at the dealer are the truck manager and the Scion "Champion" and that light is a VERY common question. It makes it fairly difficult to sell an alarm. LOL.
