We just picked up our 08 XB, and we went hog wild with the Accessoried (TRD 19 inch wheels, Nav, XM, TRD Springs, TRD Strut Brace, TRD Anti swey bar, even the goofy illuminated LED cup holders.
I want to know what you think of your 08 XB. Good? Bad? Problems? Fixes, Tips? Anything. Thanks, (Pictures of the new ride before all of the TRD acc. are installed) |

This is a biased source, but I honestly think the new generation xB is the best value in the entire automotive industry. On the basic car, you've got a Camry engine, ABS, stability control (!), side air bags, a killer stereo, 16" wheels with disc brakes all around, cruise control and a very nice ride. All of this on a Toyota product and with the automatic transmission, its $17220. That's a steal.
I'm a big fan of these cars. I'm trying to talk my parents into one right now.

Will do. We have a 2003 Tundra (great truck!) and were going to lease a new 08 Crew Max for the business. With Fuel at 3.50 a gallon here in Southern Oregon, we made the choice to go with the Scion. I'm really pleased that we did. We'll go for the Tundra later when Toyota imports a Turbo Diesel version.

We just bought one for our shop. Nautical Blue to match our 2007 Tundra. 19" Wheels, lowered, rear spoiler, tinted windows 15%, sway bar. Lamin-X protective film and headlight/fog film. Scion cargo and floor mats. Will add the vent visors when they are available and engine strut bar. Then done with it. Move on to modding the Tundra...LOL

I'm starting to notice quiete a few on the roads around here and they really do stand out. I like the styling the most out of the Scions and think they make great functioning daily drivers. I assume it has very decent cargo room too.

I like it... it's stylish with a more powerful engine (although the extra weight offsets the HP gain) I would opt for most of TRD accessories sans the TRD wheels. I will add aftermarket HID headlights since 2nd gen xB comes with projector headlights. Also a must is the OEM Fog lights, rear roof spoiler and maybe a tasteful bodykit. Congrats!

I like the new ones, but gas mileage is much worse. Can't Toyota keep a small car for US. They ruined the RAV 4 now there are NO small cute utes if you want 30 MPG. I'm Looking for a clean release 1.0 xB Up here in New Hampster (whats with this software analolgy? - very silly.

I've sat in the new ones. They're nice. Congratulations. But for some reason I prefer the "boxy" lines of the original xB to the newer rounded styling. It's probably just a matter of getting adjusted to the new look for me. Also on the new body style IMO it looks like they created a larger blind spot in the rear corners. I could be wrong but it seems that way appearance wise.

Can a Xb owner tell me how hard it was to get used to the guages being in the center of the dash and not in front of the driver?
I think the Xb is really good looking but think it would be VERY difficult having to look to the center of the vehicle for guages versus looking straight ahead. I can't really figure out why the guages are in the center. It seems like it would be a distraction. Last edited by tundraboy27909; 02-29-2008 at 10:30 PM. |
