A 900 lb enclosed box trailer, the height of the car, plus what load you put into it, will quickly and thoroughly devastate your xB, no matter what transmission you have or how or where you drive.
Here are examples of what the xB might pull, with careful use of engine and transmission, and mostly level ground.
1. The light, flat, self-assembled models similar to:
http://aatherton06.home.insightbb.co...r/Trailer.html
They weigh about 250 lbs and can carry 900 lbs but I would not carry more than 300 lbs and the load should not have much wind resistance.
2. Small trailer frames similar to the above, with auto roof-top cargo boxes attached to them.
3. Little boat trailers with 1 small jet ski.
A lot depends on the driver.
Unskilled use of clutch, hard acceleration, cruising in 5th gear or overdrive, climbing hills, long downhills, and sudden stops.
Vs
Overheated engine, valve damage, burned or slipping clutch, slipping torque converter and blackened fluid, brakes not stopping car, trailer wagging the short wheelbase, trailer pushing the rear end sideways when braking.
