Obviously these experiences would be new in your personal environment. Is an SUV really the right vehicle for you?

As I said, unless you've towed a camper to a campground you really have no idea what you're talking about when it comes to towing a camper.

Actually I never said the Sequoia was a luxury vehicle. In fact IMO there is no such thing as a luxury suv. Its an oxymoron specifically designed for gullible folks. I don't view the LX, RR, Cayenne or LC as luxury vehicles either. They're simply utility vehicles with amenties that either meet my needs or don't.

My DXL had luxury features and the ability to tow that made it a great vehicle for my recreational needs and provided little conveniences that make life a little more comfortable. The LX is no more luxurious IMO than the Sequoia. All the features that matter are available in the Sequoia and the silly things you find luxurious like 300+ air vents and 15 climate control zones in the LC are downright moronic if you think these features qualify the LC as a "luxury" vehicle. To praraphrase a past US Presidential candidate.... I've owned many luxury vehicles and the LC and the LX do not meet the standard.

That's a reasonable POV however I happen to like the recessed gauges particularly on bright days when combined with the Optitron guages. Very crisp gauges to my eyes when the 2 are combined together.

Have to disagree...BMW learned the hardway that trying to combine too many device controls into a single interface is a bad design. Folks want simplicity when controlling temp and fan controls. Nice big knobs that are easy to find and manipulate. Caddy learned this lesson the hardway as well with multi-function buttons. I firmly believe in the KISS approach to controls.

Get a minivan and you'll avoid this issue. Given that you don't tow anything perhaps a minivan is a more suitable vehicle for your needs. There must be a manufacturer that makes a minivan with 200-300 vents that will have you convinced that in reality its a luxury vehicle.

Perfect for my needs however I do agree that offering an optional bench seat with heat controls would have been a smarter approach for the Platinum. But it meets my needs so I'm OK with it.

Actually I think that award goes to the LX with a Crawl feature that'll never get used and cameras that look around the corner that will probably cause more accidents than it prevents from drivers watching video screens instead of looking out the damn window. Now those are 2 of the biggest gimmicks ever foisted on customers.

Before you know it, Toyota will be offering free 15ft posters of giraffes for new LC buyers to place on the wall of their garages. This way they can come home from a hard day at work but still get the refreshing sense of just finishing an African safari in their new LC instead of the drudgery of the daily commute home.

Hey Heatwave,

I was at my local Toyota dealership today Since my Tundra Overdrive button seem's to want to turn itself off when I drive and look and behold another 2008 Seq Owner having a problem on the power seat Oh Toyota what a feeeling

I really like my 2008. It really drives so nice and is very smooth.

I wonder if the sr5 that was 9k less would have felt this good.

For 37k(4500 discount) the 2008 is a great value.

Sure the are good and bad things in everything.

It is really a shame to see so many toyota lovers wasting time shoving bs down eachother throat.

For 37k is it really a shame????????????????????????????????????????????? ???

Thats sucks. Hopefully its nothing series and just something minor. Do you feel a shift when the light comes or does it stay in gear but the light appears to change?

I was a member at legactgt.com and every one just rags on eachother.

It seems like members treat eachother here as there sitting right in front of them so they treat each other with respect.

There was some usefull information on this post.

It is really amazing how much people know here.

The last thing I will say is that there is not a bad toyota.

it just started up today. I noticed the problem heading home from work and Transmission overdrive light would turn off all of a sudden.I usually would see that light if i lock it off but odd to see it turn itself off.Went in had the OBD done and No problems are errors code found.I think it's something in the wiring or Ecu. It's intresting seeing a new 2008 Seq while i was there too oh well just comes to show newest isn't always better but hell the 5.7 liter badging on the plat seq was Nice

Can you get into any details about your thoughts about the Sequioa. Pros and cons? I would like to hear them from you?

The good,

fairly priced
lot's of room
strong motor
lot's of power off the line.
safe for the wife and kids(lot's of 2 lane 65's here in Idaho)
Low maintance
blue tooth
dvd's in the headrests
smooth on the road
great service at will's toyota
decent milage 17.4 after 1853
runs on 85 octane (I know it says 87)
18" replacement tires are cheap to replace
beefy brakes
3 settings of openings on rear doors(open 90 degrees)
Fast as hell
looks nice and had nice lines
parking sensors

you indeed right sadly you will find that on any board not just Ts. Overall wile the interiors are bad on choices used it's not that bad looking from the exterior at all. I like what direction Toyota has went too but one area I didn't like was the rear end look's like Gen One seq very similar yet changed slightly.

Might just be the bulb. That is minor.

Do you feel a shift when to third gear when the light comes on? I know you have an 04 so the shift should be from 4-3.

Different seat motors and controls. 200 series you will not hear the motor where as the Sequioa it makes a slight buzz while moving....also no config markings like mine or your or current 200 sreies Toyota.

Where did you get DVDs in the headrest and where do you find 85 octane?

Are you worried about long term reliability that it says 85 octane?
