SequoiaGeneral discussion forum for the second generation 2008 and later Toyota Sequoia.
This is a discussion thread titled "pics of the new ride", within the Sequoia forum, part of the SUV Forums category.
I am curious to know if the your ride has dynamic laser cruise. I thought all platinum did...maybe only in Canada. Anyways....congrats and good luck.
Page, thanks for the compliments. I do think this combo looks rather sharp. I think you can agree that the Platinum Sequoia is no longer your average down income suv and the interior isn't nearly as bad as many would have you think. In fact I think the Red Rock interior is one of the more unique and visually satisfying leather interiors in any SUV I've seen.
BTW I didn't get the laser by choice. I had read that a guy had the laser cruise on while towing on a highway and when he got to an off-ramp, the vehicle unexpectedly begin to accelerate since there was no longer a car in front.
Towing can be dangerous enough with people cutting in front of you. The last think I want is a computer to think its OK to accelerate simply because it thinks the coast is clear...while I'm towing a 8000lb boat...no thank you.
X-ray, very nice. Thanks for the interior pics. I have the name exact Marathon car seat in the same pattern for my 15 mth old. I think you did the smart thing my going with a limited with the captains chairs and pass through to the rear. I debated on this issue foroever. I ultimately went with the Platinum as I only have one child at present.

oh how i wish i could have a platinum!!! i miss memory seats, height control, adj. ride. now that i think of it, i could have custom ordered i plat. with no second row console.

The best looking combo I have seen is the Red color with beige interior. I have always been a fan of these two colors. But color is always a personal choice...I have never ever been a fan of silver exterior or grey interiors.

I agree..Sequioa has never been down market in my opinion but it not in the same price point as luxury nameplates...at least not here in Canada. Sequioa platinum is $59k in Canada ($7k price drop from 1st gen limited model) where as top of the line LX570 is $94k...a big $35k difference. Also to own either of these SUVs in Ontario Canada you will be subject to a $3k-$4k green tax plus 13% tax..plus $4 a gallon for gas....I can't see the Sequioa living a future up here for very long....first generation Sequioa became a one model trim level for 2006-2007. Buying habits up here are much different than you guys in the USA we don't get bare bones Sequioa nor do we get any 2wd versions.
But yes I agree. On price the Sequioa is not down market...I think they have targeted their demographic very well.

It is a very functional interior and well designed ...I just prefer the 1st gen build quality or the current Land Cruiser interior. That is just me tho.
i dont like to sound cocky but i was the first person to have the '08 sequoia on this site and i was the first person to have the cold weather package anywhere in the north east. i posted some pics when i first got it but here they are again.
it is the platinum w/ every feature by the way. except i ordered it in blue with gray interior. but the mexican on the phone ordered me a black one with brown interior. but luckily they had this one )showroom model( so i snatched it
Great pics! I love the Black/RR combo but my wife wanted Arctic Frost. I am supprised that more dealers did not order in the RR interior for their Platinum Sequoias. Only 2 have been built for the NW region in Arctic Frost. I finaly had to break down and order one.
Has anyone added aftermarket headrest DVD monitors to their RR interior. The dealer said that they offer it but it can conflict with the factory DVD. I am not so sure the leather will match the Rosen headrest.
I notice you have the Weathertech Floor Liner in front. Have you or anyone else had any problems with the carpet getting damp underneath from sweating? I had a Husky cargo liner in my suburban and the carpet was damp underneath.
I'm looking for all weather mats for my 2008 Sequoia for all areas. Any recommendations would be appreciated.
Here's the pics of my 08 Platinum Sequoia with the Black and Red Rock combo. I'm reposting since the earlier pictures were removed when the files were relocated.
Personally not a big fan of the RR interior, but I'm sure that black turns heads when it's cleaned up. Dealer had a black limited with 2nd row bench, but after trying to keep a black corolla looking nice for the past 8 years, I sacrificed the bench for captains chairs in desert sand.
