Hey everyone I wanted to get a thread started on sequoia's tire options and opinions on what tires people like.
I just bought a new SR5 Sequoia loaded.....but I have stock Michelin LTX m/s 275/65/18 tires which I am not very happy since to me they look very small on this monster......but anyways I was wondering if any of you guys new of tire sizes and brands you have on your car or seen in the sequoia....
I would like to see some a/t tires on mine since I would be going off-road sometimes.....I appreciate your comments

I had Michelin LTX M/S on my Silverdado and thought they were great for occasional off-road use, superb on the highway, very long life.

Front Susp: Stock coilovers, 4" lift (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...6-4-inch-lift/), swapped extra spacers for Bilstein 5100s on lowest setting, wheel well height still 41.5." Rear Susp: ProComp ES3000 #326510 (2.25" taller than stock), 1.25" blocks plus PRG mini-pack (http://www.tundrasolutions.com/forum...and-new-truck/) gives 2.25" total lift, parking brake cable bracket spacers, wheel well height 43." Front diff and rear ds drop; trailer hitch electrical harness tucked up above bumper. After 20K miles swapped 305/65/18 BFG AT for 285/75/18 Toyo AT, still on stock 18x8x60 offset TRD wheels, about 1/8" clearance to sway bar. Like the extra height but miss the width. Next time either 305/70/, 295/70, or 35x12.50/18. Added 5th 285/75/18 Toyo AT as spare. Bed Bounce: Stiffer E-tires are worse than stock P-metric; biggest improvement from PRG mini-pack, slight improvement from shocks. Still a stiff ride but tolerable now. Best things about this truck: 5.7 and transmission, interior size and comfort, very quiet at high speed. Worst things about this truck: bed bounce, no VSC in 4wd, mileage sucks above 70.
The Michelin LTXs IMO are some of the best all terrain tires made. I got 80,000 plus miles out of each of two sets and they weren't even worn out when I replaced them but were having some wear problems because they were out of balance. Did plenty of off road driving to get to hunting camps and in deep snow and can't complain one bit. I read somewhere that they changed the rubber composition in the newer incarnation, perhaps as a result of the extremely long life. I don't see anything wrong with their looks. Seem like plain old tires to me. Cost about $170 each and are readily available.
Over the years I have tried numerous A/T tires on my SUV's and trucks. The best AT tire I have ever run is the Bridgestone Dueler REVO AT. I've done a lot of driving in inclement weather, including snow, rain, mud, ice, etc., and the REVO's take everything in stride and are very quiet on the road as well--simply fantastic. I happen to think the tread pattern would be a better fit for the Sequoia as well, simply more aggressive looking.
My second favorite tire has been the Nitto Terra Grappler. This is another AT tire that will do everything very well. I didn't get quite as much tread life out of these tires as I did the REVO's, but I think they handle almost as well and look VERY aggressive.

Thanks a lot mojo.....I think I'm going to go with the Nitto Terra Grapplers I have heard good things about them.....plus I like that aggressive look a lot.....One question that I had was the noise of the tires if you could feel me in on that I would appreciate it...
are you gonna be going off road? if so go witht he Nitto Terra Grapplers. Or if you the BFG A/T KO's are better IMO. Their treading is more aggressive. If you dont have 4x4 or arent going to be off road much get the bridgestone dueler A/T

Feler00, The road noise with the Terra Grapplers was very similar to that of a stock all season tire. They are very quiet early in the tread life. As you get up there in miles you will likely get a bit of road noise, but not bad. I think you will be happy with the tires. One side note, as I recall, the Terra Grapplers were quite a bit heavier than the Revo's were, and I did notice a bit of a drop in gas mileage.
I'm in the same boat as feler00, looking at replacements for my '05 Sequoia. The factory Dunlops have worn terribly, so I'm considering the Terra Grapplers. If anyone has pics or additional feedback on Nitto's or other brands, I'd love to see/hear it.
I just had Nitto Terra Grapplers installed this week - 265/70 17 P rated. I struggled with a decision between the Wrangler Silent Armor, BFG AT KO and Nittos. Ended up with the Nittos because I had the BFGs on my old truck and experienced bad wear and noise. Went with the Nittos over the Wrangler SA because I wanted the more aggressive tread pattern of the Nitto. The Nitto rubber even feels soft which might explain why they don't last as well, but also why they grip so well on the road. Even if the Nittos don't last as long as the BFG or Wranglers, I'm ok with it.
Not as quiet as a highway tire to me, but not objectionable in the Sequoia. Quiet around town. Some noise at 50-70, then gets obscured by the wind.
Haven't had them offroad, but headed to the desert next weekend. I expect they will grip better than the Pirelli Scorpion ATR 265/65 I had on there. The Pirrellis were amazingly quiet with great street handling, but in no way an off road or even AT tire.
