The only help that can truly be offered to you is to switch provider, or purchase a phone which has that capability. I know from many experiences with Lexus and Toyota navigation systems over the past two years that Verizon is the most difficult provider when it comes to compatibility with navigation systems. One phone (the Motorola Razr is a prime example) on the Verizon network is not capable of transferring contacts at all (one by one, or whole groups) whereas that similar phone on the AT&T/Cingular network is capable of transferring them one at a time. I do not remember which phones off hand, but I do believe that Verizon does have several that are capable of transferring contacts...I hope this was helpful...

You are correct most VZW don't allow the transfer of phone contacts. The only VZW phones that I know work are the PDAs ex Blackberrys. Hope that helps.
I have a VZ LG 8300 and was able to do it 10 #s at a time. Took me about 15 minutes to do about 300 numbers. You do it by setting up the vehicle to receive and then begin transmitting from phone, then just repeat until all #s are in.
Yup it's a verizon problem, they lock down their phones and then make you pay extra $$ to use features that cost nothing to activate and put no strain on their network. I switched to AT&T, I couldn't stand Verizon when I had it, they act too much like big brother.
I should add, Verizon's phones ARE capable of this feature from the manufacturer, it's Verizon that disables the features.
I am re-organizing my pictures, please PM me if you find dead pictures and I'll fix it. Also, I don't have many pics in my account here, best place to view my truck is on photobucket: Here is my photobucket account: LINK

As we said, Verizon does have some phones that are capable of doing this...unfortunately many of their phones are not (or were not)...

Not all AT&T phones work either. I have a Treo 680 that barely functions with the Nav. You can answer and hang up but that's about it. I'm very close to dumping the phone for a blackberry.

The issue with Verizon phones is mostly Verizon. If you're having issues with your Treo, I would think there may be an issue with your phone? I would think you should be able to transfer contacts and whatnot with your Treo...

I will be upgrading my cell phone soon and found this link through the Toyota website. Don't know how accurate the info is but it might be helpful to you.
My phone is not on the list. Sanyo SPC 7050 w/ Sprint. I got it 4 days after I got the Sequoia. It copied the phone book (100 people w/ multiple no.s) without any problems. I really like the bluetooth stuff ..... signal strength and battery life show up on the GPS display. I just upgraded the cordless phone in my house to bluetooth. I can now answer my cell phone using my home phone (bought it today but haven't hooked it up yet.) . I have a terrible signal in my house. techshield problem!

I don't know how accurate the Toyota list is, but I do recall MANY instances where the sales person would provide the customer the information from the Lexus Bluetooth information site about their phone. It would say one thing, and we'd be out there in their vehicle pairing and so on and the car would do things the information said it wouldn't and wouldn't do things it said it would...

Had same issue with my Verizon Blackberry 8703e, couldn't tranfer phonebook to Tundra 07. BUT, to my surprise, the latest software enables that function and also makes my 8703e run even better. the software is the v4.2.1.110. works like a charm now. the only thing that bugs me is that the tundra will only accept 2 phone #s per person so if you have 4 #s for someone in your black berry for personA, then you will have two entries in the tundra phonebook for personA with two phone #s for each entry.
Has anyone had any issues with the new 3g I phone and the sequoia?
I don't have the iPhone 3G or a Sequoia, so it might seem off-topic or unrelated. I do however have the iPhone (first generation) and Tundra (using an almost identical navigation system setup, mine just doesn't show driveways or a few other little details). I can say that, having had my iPhone paired to my truck for 6 months, I have had ZERO issues with it. With my old Samsung Sync, I had to unpair and repair on several occassions. Not the case with the iPhone. Works seemlessly and is pretty easy to switch between the phone and navigation.
*Funny story. I was sitting in the backseat of my parent's car because they were taking me to pick up my truck at a friend's house. I forgot my iPhone in the backseat cupholder of the car, and realized it a few blocks away. I was not going straight home, so it wasn't as simple as just pulling into the driveway and getting the phone. So I pulled up to about a car-length away and was able to call my mom's cell phone using the navigation system and Bluetooth so she could get my phone and we could pull over at the next little parking lot so I could have it.

My wife has the LG NV2 and we had no real issues pairing the phone or downloading her contacts all at one time. It took me a while reading the phone manual to figure to how to transmit the contacts to the car. Sat there for a little while looking at the screen on the Seq. saying it was waiting for the contacts thinking the phone wasn't working. Then figured out I needed to send them from the phone as well as set the truck up to receive them. Kinda new with the whole Bluetooth thing.
